Job Overview:

The Tech Support Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the online learning environment by providing technical support to students, faculty, and staff.

Responsibilities:

User Support: 

  1. Assist students, teachers, and administrative staff with technical issues related to the online learning platform, software applications, and hardware.
  2. Troubleshoot and resolve problems related to login issues, connectivity, software functionality, and other technical issues.

Software and Platform Management:

  1. Provide guidance on the use of learning management systems (LMS), video conferencing tools, and other educational software.
  2. Collaborate with the IT team to ensure software and platforms are up-to-date and properly configured.

Device Support: 

  1. Offer support for various devices used in online learning, including laptops, tablets, and other electronic devices.
  2. Assist in the setup and configuration of devices for optimal online learning experiences.

Communication:

  1. Communicate effectively with users to understand and diagnose technical problems.
  2. Conduct training sessions for students, faculty, and staff on the use of online learning tools and technology.
  3. Develop training materials and resources to enhance users’ technical proficiency.
  4. Clear and concise instructions to users for issue resolution.

Collaboration:

  1. Collaborate with the IT team to escalate complex technical issues and participate in the resolution process.
  2. Work closely with instructional designers and faculty to address technology integration needs.

Qualifications: 

  1. High level of trust and ability to work independently 
  2. Proven experience in providing technical support, preferably in an educational or online learning setting.
  3. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Familiarity with learning management systems, video conferencing tools, and other educational technologies.
  6. Knowledge of common operating systems and software applications.
  7. Related certification and coursework
