Overview

Bayaan Academy is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Elementary Homeroom Teacher to deliver high-quality instruction in the Core Subjects of Math, Science, English Language Arts, and Social Studies within a virtual learning environment. The teacher will foster a supportive classroom community while integrating academic excellence with Islamic values. The ideal candidate is organized, engaging, and committed to supporting students’ academic and character development.

Responsibilities

1. Instruction & Classroom Leadership

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Math, Science, English Language Arts, and Social Studies for assigned elementary grades.

• Create a structured and positive virtual classroom environment that promotes student participation and accountability.

• Integrate relevant Islamic perspectives and values where appropriate.

2. Lesson Planning & Curriculum Implementation

• Develop and implement American Common Core standards-aligned lesson plans across all core subjects.

• Use a variety of instructional strategies and digital tools to support diverse learning needs.

• Ensure lessons are engaging, interactive, and developmentally appropriate.

3. Assessment & Progress Monitoring

• Design and administer formative and summative assessments.

• Track and analyze student progress to guide instruction.

• Provide clear, timely feedback to students and parents.

4. Student Support & Communication

• Support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth.

• Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress and expectations.

• Collaborate with school staff to ensure student success.

5. Professional Collaboration & Growth

• Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, and professional development.

• Reflect on instructional practices and implement feedback to improve teaching effectiveness.

• Contribute to a positive and collaborative school culture.

• Collaborate with grade-level teams to develop and implement cross-curricular instruction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s preferred).

• Elementary teaching experience preferred.

• Experience with online or blended learning environments is an asset.

• Proficiency with digital learning tools such as Canvas LMS, PowerSchool, Wayground, Kahoot, and Kami.

• Strong organizational, communication, and classroom management skills.

• Portfolio of experience preferred
