Overview

Bayaan Academy is seeking a passionate, energetic, and nurturing Early Childhood Homeroom Teacher to teach students in Kindergarten through Grade 2 within a virtual learning environment. The ideal candidate is warm, engaging, and skilled at capturing and maintaining young learners’ attention through interactive, hands-on instruction. This teacher will foster academic growth, positive character development, and a love of learning while integrating Islamic values into daily instruction.

Responsibilities

1. Instruction & Classroom Leadership

1. Plan and deliver engaging thematic lessons in literacy, numeracy, and social sciences for early elementary students.
2. Create a structured, positive, and developmentally appropriate virtual classroom environment.
3. Use interactive teaching strategies, movement, arts and crafts, manipulatives, games, visuals, and storytelling to actively engage young learners.
4. Foster student participation, confidence, and independence while maintaining strong classroom management.

2. Lesson Planning & Curriculum Implementation

1. Develop and implement standards-aligned lesson plans that meet the developmental needs of students in KG–Grade 2.
2. Differentiate instruction to support a variety of learning styles and abilities.
3. Utilize digital learning tools and hands-on tools to create meaningful and engaging learning experiences.
4. Integrate Islamic values and character education throughout instruction.

3. Assessment & Progress Monitoring

1. Conduct ongoing formative assessments and observations of students through running records.
2. Monitor student growth and adjust instruction accordingly.
3. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and families.
4. Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievement.

4. Student Support & Family Communication

1. Support students’ academic, social-emotional, and behavioral development.
2. Establish strong partnerships with parents through regular communication and collaboration.
3. Identify and address individual student needs to ensure success.
4. Encourage a positive and inclusive classroom community.

5. Professional Collaboration & Growth

1. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and collaborative planning sessions.
2. Work closely with colleagues and school leadership.
3. Reflect on instructional practices and implement feedback for continuous improvement.
4. Contribute positively to Bayaan Academy’s mission and school culture.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a Elementary Education.
2. Minimum of 4 years of teaching experience in Kindergarten through Grade 2.
3. Minimum of 1 year of online teaching experience.
4. Demonstrated ability to engage and motivate young learners in a virtual setting.
5. Energetic, lively, patient, and enthusiastic teaching style with strong classroom presence.
6. Ability to effectively command students’ attention and maintain engagement throughout lessons.
7. Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
8. Proficiency with educational technology and digital learning platforms such as SeeSaw, Class Kick, PowerSchool, Wayground, Kahoot, and Class Dojo
9. Commitment to fostering academic excellence within an Islamic learning environment.
10. Portfolio of experience preferred

Preferred Qualifications

1. U.S. Teaching License 
2. Experience teaching in an Islamic school setting.
3. Knowledge of best practices in early literacy and numeracy instruction.
