We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Department Head to oversee our Arabic Language, Quranic Studies, and Islamic Studies programs. The ideal candidate will be fluent in speaking English and Arabic. The department head will be responsible for providing curriculum guidance and development, supporting faculty, and ensuring the highest standards of education in these areas. The Department Head will play a key role in fostering a deep understanding and appreciation of Arabic language and Islamic teachings among students. 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Curriculum Development and Guidance
  2. Develop, review, and update the curriculum for Arabic Language, Quranic Studies, and Islamic Studies.
  3. Ensure the curriculum aligns with educational standards and the school’s mission.
  4. Incorporate best practices and current research into curriculum design.
  5. Instructional Leadership
  6. Provide guidance and support to teachers in the department to enhance instructional quality.
  7. Conduct regular classroom observations and provide constructive feedback.
  8. Organize and lead professional development sessions for faculty.
  9. Student Achievement and Assessment
  10. Oversee the assessment and evaluation of student progress and achievement.
  11. Develop and implement assessment tools and strategies.
  12. Analyze data to inform instructional practices and curriculum adjustments.
  13. Faculty Support and Development
  14. Mentor and support teachers in their professional growth.
  15. Facilitate collaboration and sharing of best practices among faculty.
  16. Assist in the recruitment and selection of qualified teachers for the department.
  17. Program Administration
  18. Manage the day-to-day operations of the department.
  19. Ensure that the department’s programs comply with relevant educational standards and regulations.
  20. Identify opportunities for program growth and enhancement.
  21. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the department’s programs and initiatives.

Qualifications:

  1. Extensive knowledge of Arabic Language, Quranic Studies, and Islamic Studies.
  2. Proven experience in curriculum development and instructional leadership.
  3. Fluent in speaking and writing English and Arabic.
  4. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  5. Experience in teaching and mentoring educators.
  6. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  7. Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
